I had a dual chamber PM put in 3 months ago for a 2nd degree type 2 heart block. I am scheduled for a follow up with my cardiologist in a couple of weeks. We have a trip planned in March to Disney World. Does anyone know what the restrictions are for rides. I am gonna check with my doctor. I have no cardiac issues and am not on any cardiac meds. Just want to plan our trip accordingly
Thank you

thanks for the feedback. I was planning on staying away from the extreme rides. I will be checking with my doctor too but wanted feedback from this group
Rides scarring

It really pays to read various posts even if you are not going to Disney and contemplating going on rides, because you pick up information that is relavent to every day life, like " i would wait until the leads are at least 6 months old,... scar tissue builds to hold them in place"
good advice

My ICD/pacer is not a burden. I still play tennis and golf.

If you follow the signs in the park, they don't want us on much of anything. That's the lawyers talking so I don't pay much attention. Ask ten doctors, get ten answers. Some say limit rides, some say go for it. My doc is in the go for it camp, tells me to do what I want. One thing I avoid is newer coasters with the magnetic brakes, they are usually the ones with very fast start/stop like Manta at Seaworld and Hulk at Universal. Disney is more about the experience and their rides don't get too crazy. Kilamanjaro at Animal Kingdom and Test Track at Epcot are the only ones I can think of that mght be borderline if your device is newer but I've done both. Anything else goes, however I would wait until the leads are at least 6 months old, preferably a year. Scar tissue builds to hold them in place so I wouldn't push it until it's had plenty of time to settle in. Have fun, enjoy your trip.
