Flu remedys

Hi all has anyone had any I'll effects from flu remedys? The chemist refused to sell  me sudafed  because I had a pacemaker, I know I can buy them over the counter but he worried me that I shouldn't take them, but I'm smothering in a cold and I want drugs!

Simply having a pacer is not a reason to avoid taking any meds. However, the underlying reason we have it and heart medications we may be on may prevent us from taking some cold meds.

I'll take sudafed if I'm really miserable, but it makes my heart race. I'll pick something like Afrin instead. I've heard great things about netipots but haven't worked up the courage to try it. Stinky ole vicks works well too.

The decongestant spray, which I find just amazing at clearing my nose as the longer nozzle than other brands really seems to help the mist reach the parts that need it!

Not noticed any ill effects, though I know it is supposed to increase blood pressure a bit.
