it rocks

I'm on my 5th SJM device, 1st with a home monitor. I've been very happy with SJM and their reps. I still have the same rep who talked me off the ledge when I was petrified before my first surgery. As for the device itself, you want the one your doctor likes best for you.

I hated the monitor at first, did not want any part of it. It lives under my bed wrapped in a towel so I don't have to look at it. All I did was plug it in- no wifi, no phone cords, no set up. Every 3 months it does a full download. I don't do anything to initiate other than be within 10' of the box when it happens, since it happens when I' sleep not a problem. I get a call or email aa few days later letting me know all is ok. This replaces the quarterly checks so now I only go once a  year. I can initiate a download if something is going on. I've done that 3 times in the last year. First time, had a weird episode, doc looked at it and said everything was good. Second, worse weird episode so did the download before going to the ER. All they had to do was contact SJM and cardiac was quickly eliminated. In the past, this would have been hours in the ER to get someone from SJM to come interrogate. Last time, I had a biopsy right next to my device. We did downloads before and after to confirm no damage to my leads. So yeah, IMO  it rocks.

My pacemaker was installed in 1998 and I have not felt better. The mental part is the toughest.
