Back in ER

Well after having a relatively easy recovery so far it looks like my incision might be infected. EP is in surgery all day so they sent me to the hospital. Happy Friday!

It’s been 6 weeks. Had an easy post op too. I was just starting to ease back into my normal routine.

So very sorry to hear that, but it's great to hear that they are taking it seriously and treating quickly.

WOW

I guess I assumed that infection would happen within a couple of weeks of placement. I didn't realize that you were still at risk that far out.I'm glad you're getting treated so quickly! :-)

It was caught early

It looks like it’s just in the skin. So glad it was caught early.

Looks worse today

by ljharper62 - 2017-10-01 15:26:03

It looks like my infection is spreading a bit and is starting to hurt, although still no fever and the area is not hot to the touch.

Staying home from work tomorrow and calling my EP first thing in the morning. I hope they don't have to cut the incision open again.

cultures

If they haven't done so already, you need cultures. You don't want to waste precious time on the wrong meds, cultures are the only way to be sure you are on the correct meds.

Follow up

by ljharper62 - 2017-10-04 00:42:10

The incision is finally looking a little better. I have a follow up appointment with my EP on Thursday. Even the hospital would not do anything else except to take a picture and send it to my EP. Frustrating for sure
