So are Sorin and Biotronik, there are no bad ones. SJM and Medtronic are the two largest companies so they have the most reps which is great if we move or travel. I'm on my 5th SJM and have nothing but rave reviews for their customer service and their reps. There are some differences in the devices such as upper limits and how rate response works, ask your doctor what those are and which is best for you. It's best to go with what your doctor likes best because they are only as good as the doctor programming it.

Best of the best

First, St. Jude's lost sainthood and is now Abbott Labs. And let's not forget Ela, and Boston Scientific.

As TraceyE said they are all pretty equivalent quality wise. and yes, sadly all have had some recalls and/or advisories. But again, bear in mind the volume of devices in use. Best to let the manufacturer's rep and your Electrophysiologist determine which device is best for your specific needs. Don't however get one of the rent to own models...too pricey and they reposess for one late payment.

I didn't get to choose!

Hi!  I was an emergency case, so I didn't get to choose.  I also don't think my hospital offered a choice, it was whom they dealt with.  I have a St. Jude/Abbott.  If you have a choice, that's fine, but as the others stated, go with what your Doctors recommend is right for you.  Good Luck and God Bless.

Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
