Just need to vent!

I have had my PM for 6 months and today I get notice that my Dr. will no longer be in network with my insurance as of Oct 5th. I don't know how I will pay the bills, but I am not going to change doctors. I was just getting my anxiety under control and now this.
I just needed to vent, and I know many of you will understand my feeling of not wanting to change doctors.

Thank you for all of the great support.

call them

Tell them what happened and how you feel, ask them to work with you so you can continue to afford to go. Who knows, they may go back in network or your insurance may change. I've done that already, a doc left the network but I didn't change, then first of the year the company moved us to another carrier and he was in network again.

thanks

Thank you. I will be contacting them. Right now things are going good so hopefully I won't need too many visits until I update insurance at the end of the year.

then again

sometimes change is actually beneficial.

Talk to your Dr.

If you loose your coverage some Doctors will adjust the charge to be equal to the reimbursement they would have received from the insurance company.

Check with the DR ....it never hurts to ask. Could save you some $$.

deductible

I guess what gets me is, I have a very high deductible and I have meet the deductible for this year. But it won't matter after October 5th. It's a disagreement between a Hospital system and BCBS. I guess you never know, they may come to an agreement before then.

Thank you to everyone for letting me vent and for the support.

Insurance

The disagreement is usually between what bc is offering in payment and what the doc is willing to accept. Evidently the offer has decreased. Your doc is a small part of a large contract your employer and bc.
