Hair Loss

Hello!  I had my PM implanted almost a month ago.  I have hypothyroid as well.  Has anyone experienced hair loss after having a PM?  Thanks!

Hair loss is a known problem of being hypothyroid.

Hair loss is a known problem associated with stress.( telogen cycle of hair growth etc.)

How do you show cause and effect?

Kind regards,

Selwyn

are you kidding, absolutely PM's ICD's, and CRT's cause hair loss. Certainly you know about electrolysis (hair removal) If you don't believe that, just look at all the bald guys who have a device. It obviously also causes premature aging, again look at the vast majority of recipients, they're all old, as well as dementia, and let's not forget hemorrhoids. What else have people here blamed on medical devices? am I mocking you, not really just pointing out that isn't the cause of your issue

I just had my ICD implanted mid June and by late July my hair was falling out and still is.  I'm also hypothyroid but normal with medication. I've been to my endocrinologist and we went over all possible medical conditions and couldn't find one.  She says it may have been the stress at the time.  I'm hoping that is what it is but yes I have experienced hair loss following implantation.

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
