How do I know for sure that my information about how the unit is working is geting received for the doctor to review?

When the transmission has failed, I get a computer-generated letter from my cardiologist's office telling me they didn't get it and to send it again.

With my old practice, I got an automated call that all was well. With the new one, I get an email from the nurse. If I initiate a download, I call or email to let them know to watch for it.

You can always check with the manufacturer's remote monitoring technical support department :) I see that you have a St. Jude Medical device- the phone number to their remote monitoring tech support is 877-696-3754.
