It's all part of the experience

It is indeed wierd to know someone else is controlling your heartbeat and to feel it happening. I take most medical procedures in stride. Since I've already agreed to let them do it, there's no point in getting upset, right?

But I'd never dreamed that anything could feel the way an interrogation does--I certainly didn't expect it--I just about became unglued. Add the difficulty communicating with the technician who apparently did not know that some people can feel it...I'm afraid I said some fairly insulting things about her technique. At least she appeared insulted that I had called her "insensitive."

In the tech's defense, she seemed new on the job and some people actually don't feel a thing. Now I know to warn them that they have to warn me.

About BP monitor. I don't know, but I doubt if the the BP machine poses any threat. You're probably not the only pacemaker recipient they ever sent home with one.

You know you're wired when...

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
