First time pacemaker

Hello everyone

I am new to your forum but I have been visiting almost every night for the last month.

I was diagnosed with Atrial Tachycardia almost 2 years ago and after many ups and downs (mostly downs) 😄 I was also diagnosed with pauses. I had a loop recorder inserted last year - that was the best decision I made as it proved my symptoms weren't in my head. An ablation was not successful and my EP took me off minax and put me on Flecanide as my pauses were getting longer (6 seconds). I am going on to have a Medtronic 2 lead PM inserted this coming Friday 7/4. Since the beginning of March my tachycardia sessions have returned, while I was on the minax they were under control. I am scared and hopeful all at the same time. Scared of the obvious, but hopeful I will get myself back again - just like the rest of you probably - I feel like I was lost, by myself, isolated, even though I was surrounded by loving family and friends. Reading your stories has given me confidence, so many similar. Frustratingly trying to get answers from the medical profession - knowing "something" wasn't right with my health.

So I will let you know how it all goes.

I'm sure all will go well for you on Friday and hopefully you will start to feel the benefit of your new p.m very soon when the initial healing is over! Be kind to yourself and keep well... best wishes ❤️

Offering prayers and best wishes! You know how the tachycardia is miserable? Well get ready cause it will dissappear!

You know you're wired when...

You have an excuse for being a couch potato.

My pacemaker was installed in 1998 and I have not felt better. The mental part is the toughest.
