Hi everybody,
I received my first PM in 2002. In 2014 I received my second device. In 2003 I experienced the same problems as I am experiencing right now, 2 1/2 yrs later after receiving the second PM. I feel funny in my stomach, lightheaded and faint. This lasts for up to 10 seconds and fades away over the next minute or so.
Did anybody out there experienced the same and what was the outcome?
Thanks, Guenter

Thank you for your input. I will take all into consideration when I see the specialist. Dehydration could certainly be a factor. I am not drinking enough lately. Also my sugar could be a little high. Never crossed my mind. I am always around 6. Blood pressure seems to be fine.
When I had my first PM put in I had the same "funny feeling" I am experiencing now. My doctor said my heart was racing too fast and gave me pills to slow it down. Had no problems since. In 2014 I received my second PM and all was good so far until last week.
Who knows. Had an ECG today. I should receive a call from the PM clinic next week. I will let you know what they said.
I appreciate your thoughts.
Have a nice weekend.

Hi LondonAndy,
My symptoms I was writing about disappeared and I felt good again next day and had no episodes of unwell feeling anymore. But I was called to the PM clinic and checked out. They couldn't find anything wrong with my PM, nothing at all.
They suggested to get a blood test for potassium and magnesium. Could have something to do with the lower chamber of my heart they said. Not sure exactly what they meant. Got blood test today. Probably will never find out what it was. But I am glad I feel good again.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
What makes you think it's the pacemaker?

I'm not saying it is not, but seems a bit random and I wondered if it occurs at the same time as you feel your heart racing or something, hence making the connection? I remember, 20 years ago when I was diagnosed as an insulin dependent diabetic and went to the doctor feeling ill, he pointed out that this doesn't mean everything that "goes wrong" is related to diabetes. But others may be able to add more useful comments than I can.
It would certainly be worth noting the time and date of these incidents so that your pacemaker guru can look for that time the next time your device is interrogated and see if something funny going on. Also, if you have a blood pressure meter at home, take a reading. I had a weird experience about 6 months after heart surgery (dizziness, sweating and mild nausea) and I rushed off to my local emergency department. Many tests later the verdict was: dehydration! I had had a busy day and not drunk enough fluids!
