I'm kinda feeling lost, just received my pm Friday morning. From reading up on all this pm is kinda making me feel better, still have concerns, #family#life#hobbies.

Were happy you found us. It's normal to be a little concened. Getting a pacemaker can be an emotional ride. I encourage you to learn more and meet others with a pacamker on the site. It has helped me over the years of being paced.

Being concerned is normal, educate yourself regarding your condition, ask lots of questions, you know your body more than anyone else.

Family, life, hobbies

They should not be affected by your PM.....unless you have some wild hobbies.

Think back to your school days!

When you changed school as you grew up, presumably the new school was big and daunting, and the corridors confusing.

Well welcome to your new school.  Yes, daunting at first, but soon you will be navigating around without any problem whatsover.

Yes, you need to be aware of your new gadget at times, but I hope that you will find as I have: no restrictions on what I do in life.

PS - just read your bio.  Father of 7?!  No wonder you need the pacemaker!! ;-)  And don't worry: you can soon be on to number 8 if your good wife is up for it too ...

you will forget it is there.

On number four going on number five.  You really will forget it is there, deep down you know when you face a metal detector or something.  But other than someone bumping into it (they are so wee bitty now compared to my first one, even that is not as much a concern) or the call to remind you of an appointment you wont really think about it or notice it, can likely do all the things you used to do...

Better every day

Recognize that the pm is there to help you.  It does make us think of our human vulnerabilities but the alternative 'ain't' so grest.

Wish I could agree with the person who noted that he forgets about having a pm.  I remember it daily.  Need to find more hobbies I guess.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.
