Pacemaker adjustments

Since the Heart Hospital near my home closed last months, docs have scatteted all over.

The initial cardiologist had me feeling pretty bad.  When i saw the 1st EP he made adjustments and i felt better.  A month later i saw the factory rep and she said she wished the EP doc would have called her - adjustments could have been made.  Go to 2nd EP (where my PM monitoring was being moved to), saw rep first who made no changes, saw EP doc who recommended ablation but do not know if he made any changes.  He left the room abruptly because there was a patient in distress.  Go to 3rd EP doc for 2nd opinion who does not believe ablation is warranted unless i developed CHF.  I do not think he changed anything on my PM.

Went back to my old cardiologist who appeared to care less about anything and told me to come back in 6 mos.  He did not do anything but listen to my story and my chest. Very disappointed.

Now I still need someone for my PM reports to be sent to.  Going to yet another cardiologist (that was recommended by a friend who is a cardiology nurse).  I don't know if he has equpment for or adjust PM.

The past few weeks in addition to the PVC's I am getting short of breath unless I walk real slow.  I have no history of lung disease.  1) Has anyone had this resolved with a PM adjustment?  2) Is anyone on meds for PVC's?  If so, what?

3 days ago my bp started elevating - only when lying.  I take Spiraldactone and PCP increased it Friday from 1/2 tab to a whole tablet.  I am on no other cardiac or lung meds.

I am really anxious necause nothing has been right since the PM was inserted in 10/16.

3) Is it possible to call the manufacturer (Bionics) and request to speak to the rep in your area?

Thanks!

From personal experience my cardiologist was completely useless regarding anything related to my ICD and electrical activity, stick with an EP for that. As for PVCs I take bisoprolol which I believe is suppose to help with that but I still get them. It wouldn't hurt to call the manufacturer and see if they can recommend an EP in your area.

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
