I would check in with your doctor. Mine doesn't have me bring my home monitor when I go on trips less than a month long. This might vary doctor to doctor and how serious your condition is.

Ask your doctor, but you can probably leave it at home. My doc said as long as I'm not having problems and not leaving more a month or more, don't worry about it.

Thr day ater I received by Pm which is a biv PM without a defibrillator. The Medtronic tech told me how to hook it up and that the unit would do some type of interoogation with my unit and send info back to the PM center.
After a few months I had my first remote interrogation and the Pm center honed the next day to say everything was ok. I asked what do they check on the every day data dump and was told you willhave to ask my EP doc.
One year and three months later I am in the EP office and the same medtronic tech is doing the interrogation so I asked him what happenes wit the nightly checks. He said oh your type unit doesn't do that. I called Medtronic and asked them and got the same answer-
So for the past 15 months I have been under the illusion that nightly checks were being done. When the proper functioning of your heart is dependent on three wires and a computer under your skin you would like to have some confidence the folks running the show. Two thumbs down to Medtronic for this fiasco and to my EP Medtronic tech as well
As anyone else had any major misinformation events with Medtronic.

CareLink

I received an adaptor for my original CareLink monitor to use with cell phone signals, because I no longer had a home phone. You may need to have this adaptor to use a cell phone signal. I would call Medtronic and ask their advice about what to do. Before I got this adaptor I went to several places in town (Senior Services Center, my cardiologist's office, my church) trying to send my quarterly info, only to find that only some phones (like home phones) would work. So using the motel or hotel phone line may not work.
