The Perfect Gift

I am always grateful at Christmas for the birth of a saviour, hearing from old friends, spending time with family, etc.

But for the past 3 years, I have also been grateful for getting my first PM.  I was completely surprised Dec. 23 when I was taken by ambulance to a local heart hospital and told I'd be getting a pacement on Christmas Eve.  I came home Christmas morning with my husband and children worried sick.

After a rough go of it at the beginning, I finally adjusted.  I'm not sure that a day passes where I don't think about my device but it's ok.  I am just so thankful for it.  I'm no longer afraid to go to sleep at night when my heart might stop permanently.  My PM friend works day and night.

It was the perfect gift!

...Niecey!  Proud to join another in a bit of witnessing.  Just got home from taking our MD Daughter to work the ER in a Baptist hospital in rural Mississippi.  The entire southern US (& a good part of the north) is served by religiously supported hospitals - Baptist, Methodist, Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Jewish, even a group called King's Daughters.  Millions of believers have created an extensive health care system in our country & across western Europe.  The nursing profession has its roots in religious orders.  Many Colleges of medicine were established by religious groups.

The organizations who brought these institutions into existance all started with one Man, who lived, & died, in a short span of 33 yrs some 2016 yrs ago, and from the culture he sprang from - twelve small tribes who claimed to be their God's chosen people.

This year we jointly celebrate holy seasons that coincide in time. A joyous time for all believers who recognize two miracles in history.
