Are there any other young people with a pacemaker? I'm sure I'm not alone, I've just never met someone with one that's my age. I'm 23 years old and I've had this thing since I was 3. Gone through 3 battery changes and I've only gotten the whole device replaced once (in 2016) I'm an architecture intern here in San Antonio and I studied at Texas A&M University (Go Aggies) what're some of your stories? I've always felt so unique, it'd be nice to hear about more people like me

I just got my PM a week ago, had heart surgery to correct congenital heart issue 4 months ago. I'm 25 years old. Had some long term issues due to heart issues for years. I worked as a TSA agent for five years and a few years ago had a 3 year old boy with a pacemaker come through. Run through might be more accurate, the little guy was ready to explore. He had a twin brother without one there too.

You always run anti-virus software.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.

Hiya, I'm 21 and only had an ICD pacemaker since May this year after getting diagnosed with long qt syndrome in September 2015 and having symptoms since I was 8. I've never met anyone young with a pacemaker and always feel like I must look weird when I go for checkups and im the only young person haha. It's nice to know there are other younger people with them as sometimes I feel really alone because of it
