6 weeks and still tired

It has been 6 weeks since I had my 2 lead Biotronik Pacemaker inserted. I've had one adjustment by the EP.
I have been extremely tired and can sleep 16+ hours everyday. I have kept up my appointments with all my other physicians. My PCP is going to run some test to see if he can find anything wrong.
I have read several others on here with severe tiredness. Has anyone else experienced tiredness of this magnitude for this long?
Thanks

Hi,
I think we all had our pacemakers fitted at similar times - I think I was a few days after you Tammy! It has been nearly 5 weeks for me Cajun Girl and I am also experiencing extreme tiredness still and was wondering if this was right? I can't tell you if this is common or not but you certainly aren't alone.
Hope you feel better soon,
Diane

I think you need to get a copy of your device report and see what percent you are being paced and your lower rate setting etc.
I don't think you should still feel tired but we are all different. I hope you feel better soon.
Rate and paced

i spoke to the lab Tues. Low rate set at 60 and that is about what my pulse is at constantly due to sleeping so much. I don't know enough about pacing, but I did ask and was told my atrium is pacing 81%. I just want a little energy. Starting to get more depressed (already on anti-depressant).

if your pacemaker has a rate response setting and yours is switched off, try getting them to switch it on. When I had my pm Implanted and set to 80bmp I was so tired all the time as my heart beat was never able to go above that even when I was active. As soon as they turned on the rate response I had more energy almost straight away!

Not sure if I have a rate response. Know that I have a CLR that responded to your emotions and accelerated my heart. I had the EP turn it off but don't know if I made a mistake.

Maybe go for a quick walk or do something that would normally increase you heart rate, and just check that it goes above 60. If it doesn't that could be why you're tired and you can get them to switch it on

I have wondered how you have been doing. You had yours put in a week before I did. Sorry to hear you are still having problems. Maybe another adjustment might be needed. I am not much help other than letting you know I am thinking of you and hope you feel better soon!
