Need life insurance..with pacemaker

I have seen comments about trouble in obtaining life insurance with a pacemaker. I am 53 years old and want to find a policy. Does anyone know how I can do this? What about the no questions asked, no physical required policy they offer through AARP? Would appreciate any information. Thanks. JoyUnderHisWings-Barb

Hi Barb,

The policies like you mention are fine so far as I know. The catch to them is they have the restriction that if you should die during the first two or three (it depends on the company) it will not pay the full value of the policy. Instead they will refund all premiums you have paid plus some amount of interest - usually about 10%. Like all contracts, read the fine print before you sign.

Hi Barb.

Smitty is right. Go to the AARP web site, they offer a variety of insurances that might fit your needs.

SORRY BUT I DONT TRUST INSURANCE COMPANIES

I dont trust insurance companies. They will try any trick n the book not to pay up.It happened to me. Why not put your premiums in a savings account you may end up with the best of both worlds, some money if you need it for medical treatment or a wad of cash to pass on to your children.

Insurance and PM

Well I have had life insurance since I was 23 just because I did have a PM...my premiums were higher...but over the years they went down.....I had to change companies...which was a pain in the butt.....now that I am in my mid 40's it was a little more difficult, but I went through the broker who got me my first policy, he researched the best policy for me sent out intention for insurance to a variety of companies and saw what they came back with....there are companies out that will insure you....just need to do a little homework....good luck....

It's much better to live with a pacemaker than to risk your life without one.
