DuaL chamber pacemaker
by MARYNEWSOME - 2016-09-17 17:19:22
Thanks for answering my questions, but am having a difficult time with the pacer. I am experericing heart rates above 150 and dropping into the 40's at night. Became so dizzy last Sunday that I completely passed out and it took me until Monday to completely feel like myself again. That was my reason for questioning should I inquire about getting the pacer out. My heart rate is so rapid with minimal mvmt that it makes me short of breath until I stop and rest for a couple of seconds. Sometimes I just feel this was not the best choice, seems like more problems than I started with Thanks agian😊😊
PM Not a Fix For Arrythmias
by Artist - 2016-09-17 19:31:13
Generally speaking PMs just prevent your heart from beating too slowly. If you have heart arrythmias, typically medications are prescribed to help control those. But, the medications often cause the heart to beat too slowly, so a PM is implanted to that you can tolerate the medications needed.

Going by your first post here, you do need a pacemaker.
Don't give up, something isn't right so go back to your doctor. There are so many possiblilities....an adjustment or two, change of meds, etc. Your HR should not be dipping into the 40's unless the PM is set for that and that isn't likely.
Tell your doc what you told us here. They need to figure it out for you.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Pacemaker and tens unit for dropped foot
by MARYNEWSOME - 2016-09-23 14:14:34
Anyone no for certain whether I can continue using a Ten unit for dropped foot after fasciotomy due to compartment syndrome. The rehab doctor doesn't feel comfortable although it's the rat foot. I have placed 3 calls to the implanting Dr but haven't heard back. Thanks in advance for anyone's assistance.

With the numbers you provided, you still need the PM. It should not be removed.
