Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is my third time posting this, I'm a little confused on how this works. If I did I apologize. I have a fluttering at the top of my left rib cage, not constantly, but every so often. No pain, just a flutter. Any ideas?

I have the fluttering also. No pain, sometimes when I use my arms doing common everyday tasks. Or today I was walking briskly to the store..Sometimes I feel a "roll"-all of the flutters do not last long. But they are worrisome. I am on 50mmg of Atenelol that is specifically for the flutters, but I still feel them.

Yes every day at sometime or other. I take metoprolol which controls most of it, but if I forget to take it which I have done sometimes I am reminded by more flutters. I have become used to them and cardio/EP says no worries, everything is ok. More a nuisance than anything else.

Thank you all for your comments. It does put me at ease. I've had mine for about 7 years and learn something new about it everyday. I started out with a Sorin and when they changed the battery, they changed over to a St. Jude. I think I like it better. I have the home monitor and still can't figure that one out.

I have these flutters alot at my last check up they were recorded the tech printed them off on computer and told me they were ectopic beats and that you could live to be 100 with these they are more bothersome than anything else.

hi got loads of them when I had my pm fitted back in March this year never felt them ever before but perhaps I never thought about it then. If you are paced in your ventricle then see if you can delay the pacing so your own heart has time to kick in so if it's a second before it does try and get .800 of a second the way to test is with a 24 hr holt monitor and make sure they put the pacing on too. Some don't. You can then see when and what time the palpatations occur. Mine do happen still if I'm on medication or stressed but they don't thump so much. Another thing is to slow your breathing down to five second in and hold then release slowly. Hope that helps.

As for the fluttering, I have not experienced that. I get occassional twings in the area of the implant, but I figure that is just the nerves recovering.
You should probably mention it to your doctor on the next visit. Good luck
