MRI scanner

Has anyone had an MRI scan with a compatible pace maker? If so what did they do and did you feel anything unusual. Was your pm OK after. I may have to have one soon so hence my question.

thanks

I had a replacement Medtronic Pace Maker inserted  last year and it was the MRI compatible model.  However, the leads are the original ones from 7 years ago and they are not MRI compatible.  Do you know if your leads are compatible? If your  current leads were put in when you got the pace maker you are probably ok.  But you should confirm this with your provider.

hi my pm and leads were put in this year and I was told it was Mri safe. I did read others on here who went through the scanner with the same and felt pacing not sure I would like that. But then I guess if it has to be done I would have to go through with it.  Liz

I have a revo scan medtronic device. When I had a MRI - a Medtronic rep met me at the hospital to turn off my pacemaker while I had the MRI. After the MRI - they turned it back on. No complications - aside from the discomfort of irregular heatbeats while it's off.
