crawly sensations?

Hi all..God bless. It's me again...i know...i ask a lot of questions dont i? sorry...but you guys are the only ones that truly know what im going through and how to help. Well i have been having weird creepy crawly sensations all over my body lately and im a little scared. I do have a pacemaker. Im 24. I take florinef, nadolol, depakote for migraines, and also midrin. I know i take a lot of stuff. Anyway, i dont really have itchiness its just that i feel like bugs on me and when i look there is nothing there. Seriously, im not crazy. And no i dont use drugs...im a christian girl. But it is just weird and i dont know if this is like hallucinating....cause my cardiologist says that my heart condition could affect my mind....or if it is like a side effect of all these meds...I have been looking online but i dont see anything regarding these meds and crawly sensations. Oh and it is not that restless leg syndrome cause i get this all the time and all over my body. Has any one ever felt this? Do i need to be concerned? OH and by the way...thanks auntiesamm for your comment...you are great! God bless.

Definitely the Midodrine

Hi there, I am also 24-yr old female and I was on Midodrine for exactly 30 days and they were the worst 30 days of my life. I constantly had chills and crawly sensations. All day long, but the worst of it was about 30 minutes after taking pill to about 3 hours after taking pill. Then it was time for another darn pill. I had been on 3x per day. I called my doc and nurse several times during the 30 days and begged to be taken off the drug. Crawly sensations is definitely a side effect, although on the side effects list it says something like "tingling of the scalp", except for me (and you it sounds like), it was more like "painful tingling of the whole body". I couldn't go to my daughter's soccer games without wearing sweats and a hat (in 85 degree weather), I turned the waterbed temperature wayyyy up, and I didn't like to be touched by anyone. Thank goodness I'm off of Midodrine now. I'm also weaning off my Toprol XL which will be nice too. I am 27 days post-op with my first pacemaker, and doing well. Good luck with your meds and side effects, and see if your doctor can lower your dosage or talk to him about alternatives. You shouldn't have to live with feeling weird all the time. One more note... I noticed that even on Midrodrine my blood pressure was still too low, so it didn't even work for me. 30 days for nothing, what a pain!!!
Good luck,
Constance

It's the Midodrine

I also take Midodrine, I have taken it for 3 years with perpetual increase in dosages. I get that crawly sensation, it's a normal reaction to the medication. I still hate taking it bc of this reaction. I also break out in cold sweats as well.
Unfortuntaly my Doctor doesn't want to lower my dosage bc my BP is so very low. I am hoping that after a few months with my pacer, I can slowly stop the midodrine.
I hope this helps ease your mind, but I would tell your doctor about this side effect and see if he can make any changes.
Good Luck,
Bini

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.
