Hello Everyone,
Heartbeat International Foundation (HBI) is the only global charity providing free access to pacemaker therapy for disadvantaged women, children and men. Heart rhythm disorders can be expensive, especially in the developing world.
We save the patients and families we support from catastrophic healthcare bills, severely declining poverty, and mortal danger. Without us, they would have to sell all of their belongings and commit their families to indentured servitude, or face years of debilitating health and death.
We would love to get in contact and have your support.
Thanks

Hi Ian,
Thanks for mentioning Pace4Life. An important distinction between Pace4Life and HBI is that HBI doesn't use explanted devices - only unused ones. HBI's structure is also unique in that we have a network of 9 permanent "Heart Centers" available to patients on an on-going basis for follow up care throughout their lives.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.

I'm sure that Heartbeat International is doing very worthwhile work and deserves to be supported
Just for the record though you are NOT the only global charity providing pacemakers free of charge to people in the developing world. You may be the only one in Florida ,possibly the only one in the U.S. but you don"t have the world monopoly for providing free pacemakers to the needy
Never forget that the U.S. only has around 4 per cent of the world population; the other 96 per cent do all sorts of things that would astonish you
Here in the UK we have a charity , Pace4Life , which does just that . It's approach is slightly different in that it arranges for the collection of pacemakers with adequate remaining battery life from patients at post-mortem. These second hand PMs are then shipped to developing countries where free implant surgery is arranged.
I imagine there are other similar charities in other European countries
I wish all of these organisations ,including your own , every success but please don't make claims which simply aren't true
Ian
