Taser Test For Police Academy

Hello, my name is Kristen and I'm training to become a police officer. I have a pacemaker and I am nervous for the upcoming event of a Taser test. I know that the test is supposed to show how effective the stun of the Taser is; the pain itself doesn't frighten me. What I am worried about is the affect that it will have towards my pacemaker. I was just wondering what my concerns should be? Thank you for your time.

Kristen, I have to ask only because I've been in Public Safety work all my life. Has a department already hired you with a Pace Maker or are you putting yourself through the academy in hopes of getting a LE job?

Knowing what department's go through on pre-employment physicals, I hate to see anyone spend the time, energy and money on an academy if they can't get hired.

Tasers are safe, however the underlying reason why you need the pacer might make it unsafe so run it by your doctor first.
