Waiting for my PM

Hi there
Just thought I'd introduce myself.Im 46 mum of 5 kids living in Ireland and waiting for my PM. I have always been fit having done numerous marathons and half marathons but I'm now at a stage where I struggle to walk the kids to school so anything that helps me get back to normal and I'll be delighted.
It has been a shock finding out I need a PM as I only went to the doctor last week thinking it was my thyroid I was so tired.
I know I will have lots of questions so I joined here in the hope I could get some help!
Thanks for having me.

Hi. I am a 48 year old mom of 6 kids and ran 8 miles a day my whole life. We have alot in common. I received my pacemaker last week. I am still a bit shocked that I ran all my life for health and here I am.

Hi ladies. I am 44 and just had a pacemaker put in on Dec 1, 2015. I am a mom of 3 and ran marathons and half marathons prior to getting sick. I started back to running in January and ran my first 1/2 marathon last month. I was quite a bit slower but I think that had to do with the fact that I wasn't training as well as I should have. I am now back to the gym and on a regular training schedule and am training for a half in August. Just wanted to let you know that it doesn't take too long and you'll be back to your normal self. I honestly thought in the first few weeks I would be feeling the pacemaker and always know it was there. Now I go days at a time forgetting its there. Still a little sore when the bra strap rubs on a long run but other than that, I feel totally normal again. Take care and feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. Lisa
