Is it save to use a bathroom scale that measures body fat with a pacemaker?

We're told not to and I've never tried one, but I also haven't heard of anyone having problems with them.

My Doc said it was safe to use. I use it everyday with no problems.

Warning at the gym

There's a machine they use at my gym where you hold you hands on the bars and stand on it to GEt the body fat ratio and ion th front of it is a big triangle !!saying NO PACEMKERS!!!so I don't want to be the first to try.

Your pacemaker is not going to react to anything. You can stand under high voltage power lines, next to high voltage transformers, catscan machines, etc...etc...etc...the pacer is going to keep on tickin! In fact, there's not a single instance I've run across where any electrical device has ever interfered with my pacemakers (I'm on my 3rd), so live your life! You wanna go walking, jogging, running, climbing trees...knock your self out. You'll learn when you exceed limits and the pacer has maxed out...just rest and you'll be fine! It's just a simple small device which beats your heart...it has NUMEROUS backup systems and warning systems to alert your doctors if something's wrong. =-). You'll adapt ok...it just takes time.
