Skipped beats ????

Wondering how "common" having skipped beats are after having PM implanted ? Went to tech about 2 weeks ago, said the "pain" I was experiencing was from a skipped beat. He did a "test run" to see how things are going, the device said that I had in fact skipped beats , but they didn't happen continuously....ok...now what? He said that the monitor said to change the setting ,but very slightly....
It seems to happen more often since then, but apparently not when sleeping,(I have NOT been awoken by any).
My problem with it is it HURTS, when it happens ? Any ideas?

Could it be PVC's? I had them and they hurt too, went away when I took Magnesium.

What are these ? I call it skipped beats because the tech said that was what was happening while he was monitoring! me ;)
I do take a daily vitamin, (well most days)......

Hi: PVC'c are Premature ventricle contractions. With a PVC the ventricle contracts early and depending on timing may have a moderate amount or very little blood, this is the actual PVC and isn't what we feel. In fact it often feels like a skipped beat. All this time the atrium is collecting blood returning from the body and since the ventricle has contracted early it accumulates a larger than usual volume of blood before the next beat. when it contracts it really unloads giving us that feeling of a heavy thump. The earlier the actual PVC happens the more time the ventricle has to overfill and the discharge can be painful.

I didn't realize that I would have to learn so many medical terms !! LOL
I was wondering, how much Magnesium do you take, and does your Dr. approve ?
How do they / or us know whether it is a skipped beat or a PVC ?
