Hi peoples,
How I missed this cyber-place. It’s been what…..10 years? It feels like it. First, important announcements:
HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY TO:
1. Lenora: August 28
2. Winelover: August 31, 1954
3. Chris (CBulifant): September 1, 1970
My apologies for my late announcement! I hope you all had a great b-day and got everything you wished for :)
And “hi there!” to all the newly implanted pacer people :) I’m sure you all know by now what members to stay away from. LOL jk Everyone is great. Which brings me to my post:
Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. It has helped in so many ways; I’d say it helped in over one billion ways….here, I’ll list them.
Number one: lol jk I wont make you read all one billion. Only one million :p
Seriously, this website is just flowing with great support and I’m glad to be a part of that.
It’s been crazy dealing with crazies. Here’s a sample phone conversation with one of my doctor’s medical office:
“I’d like to speak with Dr. Walker please.”
“Dr. Mocker?”
“No, Walker.”
“Oh. Okay. What’s your name?”
[I give her my name]
“And how do you pronounce your last name?”
I tell her “It’s pronounced Muh….see…..us.”
“Mer…sigh….use?
“No. MUH SEE US.”
“Mar…..sigh….us?”
“No, there’s no R in it.”
“There’s an R in it?”
By this point, I feel like strangling her, lol.
Anyway, what’s going on is that my cyst on my right ovary has increased in size and is causing much more pain. The preliminary tests are showing it is a possible dermoid, and so right now, my family and I are moving all my medical care to be dealt with at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in L.A. b/c they have an excellent surgeon there who would be able to help me.
These last few months have been a bit troublesome, especially with the medications. The beta blockers are making my asthma worse, so my dosage is tweaked a bit, but b/c of that, my AV junctional tachycardia kicks in at around 170 at rest, which makes my PM do crazy things and feels like I ran a marathon……hmmm, maybe I did but don’t remember :p
I can’t take certain medications b/c I’m severely allergic to it, so that’s a total bummer. On the bright side, they wont think I’m drug seeking.
This week is filled with more doctor appointments, tests, and meeting up with the doctor at Cedars Sinai, which we don’t mind b/c we want to get this over and done with. We don’t want to spend more time in the hospital than we have to.
Basically, I’ve been in and out of the hospital and the ER, which is why I have been away and not able to get on my computer, until now. When I signed onto my email recently, I found a lot of wonderful heartfelt messages. Words cannot describe how much it means to me AND my family. I tell them about all of you on here and how you’re wonderful people, and so they are very grateful as well. I try to keep them updated: for instance, I recently told them how the members want to put pictures on the site so we can stalk, I MEAN, get to know each other even more, :)
Anyway, I’ve been having phone conferences with my university about my medical leave from school, so I truly hope I can attend this semester.
Oops, long post, haha. sorry. Well, I’m off to dream land wishing that George Clooney would be my doctor like in the t.v. show ER.
I’ll update when I can. Hopefully the doctor will have a treatment plan soon.
Again, thank you for your awesome friendship!
Take care,
~valerie
