I have had my PM since august this year. My scar was fine at first now its gone to a keloid scar. It can be painful and sting at times. Has anyone else had this? My gp has gave me pills and cream. having read about it it sounds like I might be stuck with it. due for a checkup in January.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
My Scar

My incision formed a Keloid scar. I am one year post op and the scar has flattened slightly. My physician prescribed a cream for it after I complained about it and waited 6 months to see if it would heal. It is especially aggravating for me since my bra strap goes right on top of it and irritates the already sensitive and itchy scar. I haven't heard of prescribing pills to treat Keloid scars and none of my doctors have suggested something like that. I resist taking any additional oral medications especially now that I am taking Bosoprolol and Flecainide for afib and feel some mild side effects from that. I imagine that there is a wide variation in how different people heal and perhaps you will get good results. PM members have talked about Keloid scars and you will probably find other messages on this if you use the search tool at the top of the PM club home page.
