First trip with Pacemaker

Just in case anyone else is worried about flying with a new pacemaker I wanted to let you know that last week I made my first trip out of Canada with my pacemaker and have to say it was the easiest thing.

I was nervous about going through security but I just said I have a pacemaker; had my card in my hand but they never asked to see it, and they brought me through to the big machine on the Canadian end (this is safe to go in) and I was on my merry way. On the way back from Mexico I also told them and they ushered me right through the side and gave me a quick pat down. I made it through security way before my travelling companions lol.

Now I feel confident to travel again :)

Thank you for posting this! This makes me feel so much better:) I am flying out of Canadian in May and it will be my first time flying with my pacemaker! I have only had my pacemaker 6 months and still get nervous, but was worried about travel!

Easy flying

I received my on last July and have flown across the U.S. from Washington State to Washington D.C. with absolutely no issues twice since then. Just told them I had a pm and they waved me through to the X-ray machine. Going in and out of government buildings in D.C. it was the same. Then I flew to Japan to visit my son and had a wonderful experience. Same procedure. No one asked to see my card at all. I wear a medical I.D. Bracelet and maybe someone noticed that.

I also fly with a bag full of knitting needles and scissors. I'm never questioned about those either, except the Japanese security always measures the blades on my little rounded tip school scissors! I don't know whether to be worried about how easy the process is or to thank my lucky stars.
Have fun traveling and don't let your pacemaker stop you.
