Effect car seat belts have on pacemakers

Hi Everyone,

I am a Product Design Engineer student studying for my final year at Loughborough University. Currently my work is focused on the effect that car seat belts have on pacemakers. From my understanding the problem seems to lie mostly in discomfort whilst wearing a seat belt and the potential danger of the pacemaker being damaged in a collision.

I am in the early stages of the project, currently conducting my initial research. I have constructed a questionnaire to try gain some further insight into the problem from people who experience it themselves.

The questionnaire will be completely anonymous and should take around 5 minutes to complete. All information collected will be used to aid the design process, with an end goal being to make a final physical product to solve the problem. The questionnaire can be accessed below or by copying and paste this link into your browser - http://goo.gl/forms/bzeHCjyJtG

Many thanks

Not specifically, no, but it doesn't violate any terms of service so it's ok. The exact same thing was posted a few weeks ago.

Seat belt pad

The pad I bought for my car's shoulder strap solved the problem for me. My PM is largely invisible to me. Nothing to really add here

Have completed it

In case our non UK members don't know, Loughborough University is one of Britain's most prestigious engineering colleges. Students are required to develop a product as a part of their course.

I am happy to participate in this one.

(although I've never experienced seatbelt discomfort)
