SAD Light box
by LondonAndy - 2015-10-11 11:10:27
Do you mean the sort used to treat SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder I think - to help against depression on dark winter days)?
I don't see why not. I am diabetic, and I know that their light can be too intense to sit in front of them much because of that, so I have two to uplight my living room when needed.
Good Question!

A "Light Box " is a box w/ some number of fluorescent tubs in it that are very intense & wide spectrum, approaching a bright, sunny day.
It is used by folks suffering SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder - a depression type malady that strikes some people during the winter at higher latitudes that suffer Sunshine depravation during the winter. Generally speaking those affected get up early & sit in front of it & read for an hour or so & can do the same thing at night. The light is so intense that many have to wear sunglasses to perform the therapy.
Google SAD for a good discussion. It is a very debilitating malady for those affected. Makes them want to just sleep all the time.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
