6 months tomorrow!

All in all feeling pretty good about my PM. My only concern is that the lump on my chest is still fairly pronounced. Has anyone had a similar experience? I've almost completely resumed normal activities (swimming, walking, elliptical) with no problem. I'm also concerned about tossing and turning at night for fear that I may be putting undue stress on the device. I feel too that I've become more 'edgy' and not in a good way. Any comments are welcomed. Thanks.

PM bump

by Suz2015 - 2016-03-22 01:03:37

I m jealous of you fellas, I am a slim woman, so at times it looks like I have an extra lil boob ! :o)
I sleep any way I like, and no problems. I got my PM Nov. 2015.
Mostly I do not worry it. And nobaody seems to notice, ( maybe just being polite ? :) )
good luck
Suz

No worries

For some people the pacemaker sticks out more than others. Mine sticks out more sometimes, sometimes less. It depends upon how hydrated I am.

They leave extra wire at the pacemaker side so if it moves the wires won't come dislodged. In normal body movement the pacemaker will move a little bit anyway.

Previous discussions on the forum suggested you would have to be in a serious accident before you would dislodge the leads. In which case, you'd have more serious problems than just the lead.

Hope everything else is going well for you.

6 weeks & seems to be OK

I'm on the slim side so the PM bump is visible. Have resumed normal activity. Unable to wait any longer. I enjoy physical activity including cycling year round.

I still have a small amount of pain in the upper left side only if I press there. After 6 weeks most likely still a bit of healing taking place. Looking forward to no longer noticing the PM.

Played a round of golf today for the first time. I could feel my left arm pressing the PM on the back swing. The PM moves a small amount. Seems OK. Was surprised the right arm was sore afterwards but the left arm OK.

Sleeping on my left side is no longer a problem.

I think activity (especially after 6 months) should not be an issue.

You know you're wired when...

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
