HI. I'm Nancy and I'm 72. Just had my pacemaker for badycardia put in in May. I felt so much better within 24 hours. Was awake thru the surgery joking with my surgeon/EP. Only put under when he was finished and shocked me to put my heart in an acceptible rhythm. Since then, have felt so normal it's so unelievable how little energy and dizziness I had for about 2 years. I don't understand why doctors always think women have an emotional issue rather than a heart issue that needs to be addressed. Just relax and it will be finished before you realize it and you will be back to normal. Have to have periodic device checks to make sure everything working as it should. And it does. Good luck to you. Let us know how you are doing after surgery.
