Hi thanks for this forum it helps out alot knowing there a place I can go to and ask questions I couldn't ask my friends. I just received my pacemaker August 17, 2015 so I'm not only new to this group I'm new to the experience of wearing a pacemaker as well. Thanks again so much for this forum and thanks for your time.

Hi Nate:
I don't know how much help I can be since I just had a pacemaker put in this past Friday evening, August 14th, but I can say that you are definitely in the right group as here I have been getting support and a lot of comfort and help.
It is scarier then any thing for me, for us to think that there is some thing wrong with our hearts and that we could die, without this intervention. I'm still freaked out and scared and worried and everything BUT the people who have responded to my own worries completely assure me that my feelings are normal as yours are. Words which comfort us, but will take awhile to sink in and absorb so we can believe them.
As I said, I am a "newbie" as you are and all the uncertainties and worries are alive and well in my mind but somewhere I have to believe that my life will get better. Listen to the people here, they know and guess what, they are your brothers and sisters now. No emotion I have, you have, is too little for all of us to handle.
I don't know if this helps you out, mash I am in your shoes as well, but then aren't we all? Maybe time will heal us but as one friend of mine told me, think of this PM as your little angle who is giving you another lease on life. Hang in there buddy, as I am told, and will also have to learn, life WILL get better.
Thanks for joining our family here on line.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
welcome to the club

Hi guys, Welcome to the pm club, I've had a dual lead pm for 30 years now and as long as you go for your regular checks you can live a very "normal" life.
Any questions/concerns just ask away and I'm sure someone here will be able to help you.
