Aloha!
I am a 28 year old mother of an 11 year old son; unfortunately I ended up with a LBB (Left Bundle Branch) 3 years ago. I was told that it would get better over time because I had no symptoms (short of breath, water in my lungs, etc) I was all good =( I have a surgery for mastoiditis on Saturday, I had to call them yesterday and cancel. I waited 5 years, I was told that there will be no cardiac anesthesiologist.
Wednesday I was called by my cardiologists surgeon consultant. I went in yesterday and found out that I need a biventricular defibrillator implant and a synchronator. Unfortunately it is an emergency surgery that will be will in two weeks. I cannot help my family, I cannot be there for my son, I will be out of commission for awhile! I need help for my life. I HATE asking for help; BUTâ¦. I need it =( I donât want to die. I donât want to be scared. But I AM! I give give give give, and I am sad! I am depressed, afraid, and do not know what to do. I am smart, educated, I have gone to school, I have ambitions, I have goals! I NEVER did drugs; no meth, cocaine, NOTHING! It isnât fair. Please, help meâ¦. Help my familyâ¦. Help my son. Mahalo Ke Akua =) http://www.gofundme.com/aafernandez808

You are not going to die...at least not from this surgery. You will not be out of commission for awhile. You will be home with your son by the next day. This is life...life happens and we roll with the punches.
Educate yourself about your condition and the CRT-D you will be receiving, according to your post. I have one and some others on this site have one too. Mine is almost 7 years old now. It stinks that we are put in this position....none of us want a device but it SAVES lives....it does not take them. I have LBBB too among a few other abbreviations. You will be fine!
Hospitals have Patient Advocates that are there to help you and guide you if you need assistance such as Social Services, etc. Speak to them about your needs. I am not sure if you are asking for financial help for your device or to run your household but members on this site are here for support and knowledge of PM/ ICD's. We are glad to give it to you so come back often.
LBBB is electrical and we did not cause it nor could we prevent it. Speak to your Doctor and get more information....that will help to calm you some. Come back here and ask more questions as you need. Also, read some others posts here, that will help you too. We've all been through it and we are here to tell you....you will be ok.
