She posted that she "did some research" and came up with a protective coat which she was downsizing into a vest, that would allow her husband to use his welder. Several people replied with interest and wanted information about it. But I didn't see any reply from graci.
So, I'm wondering: is there a protective coat or vest I can get or make, to allow me to go back to occasional welding, drill press use and kiln use?

Medtronic 2015

I'm running all the equipment in the wood shop. Plus I've run a chain saw, have been zapped by a live 110 volt line, all sorts of stuff. I was even drilling holes with a DeWalt drill while my pacemaker was lying on the drill. No problem with the Medtronic and mine was implanted in 2013. So it's much older than yours. Which means you shouldn't have any problems either.
We've also had people on the forum with pacemakers who have done MIG, TIG, and arc welding. No vests needed.
Someone did post recently they had a problem with being wanded in an airport but it wasn't a Medtronic.
The only thing I've run into is reduced reaction time due to the heart meds I have to take. They took me off saws because of that. Otherwise, no problems.
Hope everything else goes well for you.

My ICD/pacer is not a burden. I still play tennis and golf.
Don't know about Graci

I don't know about Gracie and far be it from me to say it is O.K. to weld, but that is exactly what I would do. Without a vest! As I have said before, I have broken all the rules with my PM. I have worked closely around 11,000 volt switch gear and electric motors, used a chain saw for hours, and lots of other equipment without any problems.
These little buggers are tough as hell and I have yet to find anything that has had any negative impact on it.
