Hi from New Zealand

Hi there,
My 9 year old daughter Keira, has just had her first pacemaker anniversary and we would love to make contact with other wired kids her age.

I, her mum BECS, would love to make contact with other mums of wired kids. We are still relatively new to the pacemaker lifestyle and look forward to hearing from others.

Thanks
Becs

My daughter is somewhat older as she is now 15 and we live in the UK. She will be passing her15 years PM anniversary in a few weeks.

Usually initial contact

Usually we get the initial questions then don't hear from the parents of the kids with PM's. You can look over old posts and see if you spot any, then contact them privately.

The good news is usually the kids do so well the parents end up being more worried because they're so active.

I know the UK has a good national heart program. I don't know if that extends to New Zealand or not. In any case, I'd also contact the heart program and local hospital to see what's available. In the US we have Mended Hearts which (I think) is an international program. They have an area devoted to kids. That might be another avenue.

I'm way past being a kid so can't help.

Hope things go well for your child.

Hi Becs-
I am a mum of a daughter who has a pacemaker, I am also in NZ (in the Waikato).
If you are still keen to chat, I would also really like to talk to other parents of children with pacemakers.
Look forward to hearing from you-
