Thank you!

Well tomorrow is the "big day". I'm scheduled to get my pacemaker bright and early in the morning. I am SO grateful for this site. I have spent hours on here reading past posts. Because of you I was encouraged to call the cardiologist this morning and get some questions answered. I now know that I have neurocardiogenic syncope. I probably spelled that wrong! My heart has been stopping when I pass out and last week it stopped for 31 seconds. I didn't even know my diagnoses until the call today and I wouldn't have wanted to "bother" the doctor without your encouragement.

Although I am not looking forward to the procedure, reading your posts has given me hope that my life will have a new "normal" of hopefully not passing out unexpectedly anymore. I was told the pm will be set at 60 bpm which, after reading in here is quite common.
Thank you all for the help BEFORE I get the pm. I can only imagine how much help you will be afterward.
Betsy

You are going into this fully informed and ready. Good for you! Bring a notebook to the hospital so you can jot down what the doctors tell you, any questions you may have, etc. This is an invaluable "companion" as you get used to the new normal. (Looking back over my notes, I am sometimes surprised at the nuggets I read--things I'd forgotten the doctors had said, etc.)

I have had more than one physician compliment me on the little notebook. They like it when their patients are proactive about their health.

Best of luck to you; let us know how it goes.

I know exactly what you mean. I did the same as you, practically lived on this site for over a month before my PM. Helped more than I can ever say. Let us know how you are getting alone with your new friend on your shoulder.

You know you're wired when...

Airport security welcomes you.
