Pacemaker and TENS units

This is my first posting in the Pacemaker Club. Because the way this forum is displayed is so different from other forums I attend (afib, sleep apnea,...) it's difficult to understand how to use it.

Here are some questions I might want to ask.

CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE THEY WOULD BE MOST APPROPRIATELY POSTED:.

1) Can you use a TENS unit when you have a pacemaker? How close to the pacemaker?

2) I noticed in the member sign in that a question asks how many devices I have. How many pacemakers can one person have?

3) I have a number of Interrogation reports I would like to understand better...

TENS

Just talked with my EP who said the TENS unit should not be used closer than 12 cm of my pacemaker unit.

(I assume most/all pacemakers are installed in the same place--somewhere by the heart.) I'll be using the TENS to deal with a pinched nerve (spine -> left shoulder blade -> down left arm...)

TENS

I was told by Medtronic not to use a TENS unit at all.

For postings, start with first page when you first open up this website. Then if you notice, under forums there are specific posts which you can use also.

You can also do a search with specific term.

For the interrogation reports there might be people on here who could help you. However I always ask Dr or Tech when it's being done to explain.

I'm 44, active and have had my device for two years. I love it as I can run again and enjoy working out without feeling like I'm an old man.
