aches and pains

It's normal to get sharp pains, shooting sensations, prickling as the nerves knit back together and the scar tissue builds around the pm. Try ice or heat, one usually feels better than the other but we're all different which one feels best.

Watch for new swelling or redness, streaks, fever, oozing. Those are signs of infection.

28 months and still having little pains

I have decided that the little sharp chest pains and occasional burning around the PM site is due to trying to get back to normal working level after my body was invaded by this machine. I started slowly and now I do all sorts of lifting and pulling and other movements. The only real precaution I take is to not smack the site with something (not always successful with that, however). As noted by TraceyE, look for signs of infection.
