Has anyone noticed more hair loss than usual since pacemaker was installed?

Known after MAJOR surgery, but . . .

I've heard of hair loss following major surgery - my MIL's hair became very thin after major heart surgery - as the body's response to the stress. I wouldn't have thought a pacemaker procedure would have triggered it, but I imagine it's not impossible if there was a lot of stress associated with it. If your surgery was recent, I'd consider raising it with your doctor - probably the primary care doctor - for some reassurance/opinion.

I had an alarming amount of hair loss. The only medication I take is Xarelto and a full aspirin, so of course I was trying to blame it on the Xarelto. I am 5 1/2 months post implant, and my hair loss is finally slowing. I am only going to think it was from stress of the emergency pm implantation and the stress on the body from being really sick with arrhythmias for the previous 2 1/2 months prior to the pm surgery.
I had blood work done, but all came back fine. I went for a regular dermatologist appt. and she inspected my scalp and said I had no skin problems. She could do a biopsy, but I declined.
I haven't noticed any thickening hair, but I don't have hair all over my pillow when I get up in the morning nor wads of hair in my dryer vent.
Stress and Hair Loss

I blame stress , a difficult if not impossible thing to escape ...The PM is a reminder of our humanity, that we are only here for a set time .On the hair loss .. Our body's "computer" concentrates on the most important and vital things to maintain life.. The hair is the least important , according to the "body's computer" ...Somehow , I think we were designed to live forever ..then "imperfection" enters the scene ..

Yes I'm taking several. 2 for high blood pressure-it was 3 because when I got the pacemaker it shot up. 1 for chorestrol [sp] insulin for diabetes.
It's not coming out in clumps. It's breaking off a couple of strains when I comb it.

Hi, Tabby
Are you taking any medications? Ifso, check the possible side effects. Hair loss is not uncommon with certain medications and anesthesia.

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.

I'm not blaming the pacemaker. I think it's hair coloring but I just was wondering if anyone had had hair loss since having pacemaker. I know stress can cause hair loss too and having just gotten a pacemaker can cause a lot of stress.
