Hi, I am 79, I developed Af fib 12 months ago, was put on amiodarone it did not help me had bad reactions to it , came off it, and was put on dioxin after 4 months was still in bad af took me all my time to walk 50 yards without being very short of breath and dizzy, tried a cardio version worked. felt good for 6 days in sinus rhythm, then back in af and lousy again, my ep
suggested av node ablation and explained all about it to me, so I decided to take a punt on it, had a biventricular pm put in 6 weeks
ago, no problems with that, insertion site a bit tender for 3 days, I had the ablation done 2 days ago and cannot believe how good I feel unbelievable, I have an EF 36%, and I am hoping that may improve with the better pumping of my heart, I know I will allways have the af in the top chambers and have to be on blood thinners for the rest of my life, but I am not too con serned about tha,t, its the quality of life , im very happy with the result

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
Great news!
