Since my EST and PM adjustment I really feel as if at last I have turned a corner. Managed to paddle down a river last weekend, lots of bad words as I thought I was going to capsize but survived!!, good to be out again . Arm/shoulder, wound all great after the paddle.
Still getting short bouts of palps ? PM induced but they stop very quickly. The main thing that still feels wrong is my heart rate still seems too high when not doing very much (90) however when settled feel great. Maybe in time things will settle more.
Going on holiday next week for 2 weeks to Austria/Italian Alps and have been organising what days I can walk and when I can use buses and meet up with folk at the end of the day. Don't want to over do it.
See the consultant on the 23rd Sept so we can find out what the next step is , I do know that the tech can't do much more with settings at the moment.
So nice to feel more positive and to start getting my confidence back.
I take my hat off to the members how have had so many problem,s op',s infections etc and have kept sane.
Love to all

PM induced ??
by Theknotguy - 2015-08-31 03:08:40
Ran into the same situation. Doc said the heart was having a problem and the PM was trying to correct. So the pounding/palpitations wasn't induced by the PM. It was the underlying heart problem.
Do you have any medication in case you go into fast heartbeats?
I went into afib with RVR. Though I was going to die until they got me in the ER and dumped Cardizem in my system. I now have a procedure to follow in case I go into afib with RVR and that's before the ambulance gets there.
Otherwise, hope you have a good trip.
No meds yet

Not sure what exactly is going on, this faster HR has been occurring before op and I thought it was all linked. No one seems to be bothered by it except me, I know its not right as when it settles I feel so much better. I think when I see the boss I maybe starting meds, the PM tech eluded to that. Wish he had got in touch before hols but not to long to wait now.
Many thanks for all your in put over the last 6 months Jx

PM induced?

Jane, if I understand your comment you seem to be saying you have pacemaker "induced" palpitations. My experience is that the PM prevents your heart rate from falling below a set rate (often 60 BPM) but does not cause or resolve afib and other rhythm problems. Medications such as beta blockers are usually prescribed to help control rhythm problems. Your holiday sounds wonderful. I hope to get to Australia one of these days.
