First PM implanted in December. How long does it take for the site to become less sensitive? Can't let the bra strap touch it because it gets sore. Any suggestions?

it also helps to cut a strip from a "pad" and use the sticky part to wrap around the bra strap, it stays in place for several days. good luck.........
Bras and Sensitivity

I had my implant on Nov. 6, 2014. The incision is still somewhat sensitive, but each day that lessens. The doctor told me not to use any bras that have clasps near the incision. I have only two bras I now use and the straps came with some padding in them and are wider than normal. So, I guess I am saying shop around for a style of bra with a wider, soft, padded strap. In addition, I continue to but Neosporin over the scar tissue. This was recommended when the wound still had some unhealed areas and stitches coming out, but I have continued using it to just lubricate the area. When I get home, the bra comes off and I wear tops that help to conceal that fact. Sometimes when the strap is rubbing, I find that I can pull it over toward my shoulder and it stays away from the incision for awhile. This helps when I am in my senior's exercise class and do some repetitive weight lifting movements that affect the PM area. Also, if you click on the store link on this web page you will see another link that leads to affiliate vendors and they offer a padded device for bras.

Had my PM 3 years now , still sensative. It never will "heal" 100%. Remember , they cut a pocket in your chest and stuffed it with an ipod ! :)

Would it help to put a piece of guaze or some type of bandage over the part that gets sensitive? It has been a few years since I had my implant so I really don't remember having that problem.
