Hi! My dad went to the hospital because of atrial tachycardia I believe. The doc said he was lucky because what he has usually results in death rather quickly. After 6 days in the CCU he received a pacemaker and a defibulator and was told he in on stage 3 category D of heart failure. After surgery the pacemaker would work 3 times then on the 4th the defibulator would shock. The nurse said today that it has been quite active today so they raised the parameters to pace 8 times then shock. How effective will these devices be for him in such a late stage of heart failure?
