It is rather difficult to go on disability. This is usually reserved for those who can do no type of work. Can you re transferred to something less strenuous or be retrained for another occupation? It does take a good while to recover but even so you should consider the abilities you have. Trish

I know how the fear is on you. I also felt the same way. I have had mine for ten months now and there are days I cry on the way in because I am so tired just getting ready for work. As far as you lifting I am not sure ask your doctor about that. My doctor sent me back to work after a week of having it implanted. I work as a clerk but the two men who work with me were out for a month afterwards. I know that God does not give me the spirit of fear but of power love and sound mind, This I quote to myself daily but this is not an ingrown toenail cut out. Good luck with the disability. Do not let anyone discourage you in trying to get it. No two people are the same with their hearts. If you feel you need to try to get it then do so.
