Sleepy a lot...

Hi, very new here. Had a bi vent blah blah blah with defib installed recently. Very sleepy a lot of the time. I'm 46 and EF around 30… None of the doctors seemed too concerned immediately that I am so sleepy. Very hard to stay productive when I need several naps a day. I know many of you feel the same way I do and could you please be so kind as to tell me what it took for this drowsiness to subside. For example, was there an adjustment that was made for you, or perhaps a medicine that improved these symptoms. Thank you for being here for a guy like me. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one with these symptoms after talking to my doctors….

It's the medication

You don't show in your bio what kind of PM you have. That would be helpful. You also don't say what medications you're taking. That would be helpful too.

If you're sleepy all the time with heart problems and a PM it's usually due to heart medications. Heart doctors have a tendency to over prescribe on the medications to make sure they work.

Ran into the same problems with my cardiologist. I was falling off my chair at work. Had a serious discussion and he backed off on some of the medication.

It still took a year with reduced medication for my body to adjust. For that entire year I was wearing coats and sweaters all the time. I'd be sitting outside at 90 degrees F with a sweater feeling just great. Finally I started feeling warmer.

At age 47 you'll probably want to be moving instead of sleeping. Have that discussion with your EP / cardiologist and see what they can work out.

Kind of thought so...

BS, not sure of any of the other numbers... Thanks for the feedback... They actually want to up my mess, rather than lessen them... I'll probably get a second opinion...
