Painful shoulder

I had a PM fitted 6 weeks ago whilst having Ablation for AF.I had my first PM check last week and everything ok .I was told that I can now start moving my arm more but it really hurts.I try and do abit more everyday but I think I may have overdone it abit because its getting more painful instead of easing.I was warned about frozen shoulder I hope that's not what it is.Any advice about excersing would be great.

is a useful site about frozen shoulder and exercises. Always start off gently within your comfort zone and build up slowly every few days.

There is no evidence that a sling is useful after pacemaker insertion. The use of pillows in bed to support the arm and stop turnover is advised.

For 4 weeks after insertion you should not raise the arm higher than the shoulder, otherwise move your arm within the limits of comfort. If you do not move the arm you are at risk of developing frozen shoulder.

Tip: When dressing put the 'bad' arm into sleeves first.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.
