Don't know why the worry came to mind (for this year anyway) since the policy just started in October (found out I need a pacemaker at the first of Nov, I lucked up) ..

However, at our office, it has been rumored that if you're going to be a risk to make the group rate rise, you get "encouraged" to make other arrangements voluntarily....I jokingly asked our CEO before my surgery if I would get "booted off" the company insurance and he just said "by then we'll have you all fixed up"...I'm 34 with a family to support, and need the insurance for sure now...you guys helped put my mind at ease some..

No change for me

Hasn't affected my health insurance and that was after a hefty payout because of a six day coma and 13 days in the hospital.

If anything, the PM means you'll have less medical issues. You're watching your health, it is being more closely monitored, problems are quickly found, health issues are dealt with more quickly.

Depends I guess

On which type of insurance. It hasn't effected us on my husbands employer insurance at least so far and there were no changes for 2015. If you have a Medicare advantage plan it shouldn't affect it either. I know the plans we sell are a flat rate for the plan no matter what your health condition is. The only thing that Medicare won't allow for a Medicare advantage plan is if you have ESRD ( or end stage renal disease) I'm not sure about medigap (supplement) plans but I don't believe it does. As far as private insurance it could. Not sure

Many years ago

If this helps you any--and it was at least 25 years ago ha--I had just started a job in CA working for a printing company i'd only been there a couple of months when I got married and had to take over a month off--believe it or not when I had my physical for my marriage certificate (required back then) they discovered a birth defect that I was born with in my heart ASD. long story short extremely pricey open heart surgery to correct it and ended up paying out of pocket only about 25--30 bucks! I came back to work a few months later and still had my job although come to find out several powers that be up front had wanted to fire me i'm sure because of the expense however my boss went to bat for me and I was able to stay however a few months later I ended up quitting because we moved back to ID where my husband was from. kinda dirty pool to the place I worked for but really I had no idea that we were going to move back. I would have stayed with them even though my measly wage at that time was only $5 bucks an hour ha! a lot has changed in that time.

depends

If you are on a group policy, it shouldn't make a difference. Private plans are different. With all the new laws and changes? It's anyone's guess.
